Current Spawns

3.06.07 - Sorry for the silence but it Just did not happen, I tried everything and no breeding occurred.

On the exciting front I am in the process of getting a fair few awesome Bettas. There will be a spawn come hail or shine and after the quality of last spawn i am determined that the next will be just as good if not better. Keep watching for some amazing coloured Bettas... that i promise.

Well here they are ... i hate the fact i have to wait a month for them to arrive but im sure there will be some mighty fine spawns from them.

Please send me an email or put in my chat forum your preference and i will see if i can do a majority rules sort of spawn.

12.07.07 - "Their here and the females look better than the boys!"

The Panda and the gold are definately looking in better health at this time as the Banleang betta boys are struggling with theirs at the moment. They only arrived today so i will let them settle in first.

The Pandas won the poll so they will be the first spawned and the female is every bit the panda as the boy. The banleang greens are outstanding in colour so they will go second if the male recovers. He looks blue in picture but both he and female are awesome solid greens and i adore a solid betta green.. nothing beats it.

Im so excited as i will have hundreds of little babies in the house shortly.

10.08.07 - Its a happening, just not as i planned.

The panda male was eager and willing but the panda female was not going to play a part in it, despite feeding them up on delicious worms and fresh water and giving the right conditions, she had other ideas so after 4 days of chasing i decided to take her out and put plan B into effect. The platinum female went in and within 24 hours we had eggs.

Only about 30-40 eggs that i can see but dad is looking after them fine. They should be hatching sometime tonight. I will be interested to see what the colours are from this batch as the panda is a black/copper with a white underbody and the platinum is a metallic white so my guess is metallic ie.. copper, platinum etc and possibly marbled.

I hope to get another spawn going shortly with the greens and possibly the golds.

Lisa i will try that new food out shortly and fingers crossed it will all go well. I also have a breeding pair of Angels that are eager to steal a tank, they are in the main tank and the eggs dont stand a chance

29.8.07 - A fizzer

I took the dad out quickly as i looked in the morning and could not see any hatchlings so i figured he had eaten them. Luckily a few got away.

There are approximately 5 good size bubs. I plan to breed the greens shortly but have been busy in life and need to get another heater first.

Photos as they colour up soon.

12.9.07 - but they are nice

i am feeding the survivors live black worms and brine shrimp now and they are growing fast. I seem to have a couple of copper golds and definately a platinum that looks to be turning into a panda.. so white underbody and copper body. photos of them will come once jarred.

3 is the magic figure.. and all are sold. 2 copper golds and platinum gold. 1 seems to be a boy as he is blowing bubbles but i have been wrong before :).

The Greens

If you look at photos above.. the blue mask is actually one of the finest green masks i have seen yet. And i adore greens. Both he and his missus are fully masked green metallic halfmoons and i have them in the breeding tank as we speak.

They should put out blues, greens solid colours and most definately masked fish.

16.09.07 - So far so good, I have taken both parents out of the tank, partially because it was painful watching the male be a negligent father. He is such a relaxed fish even when i got him i thought he was dying.. the pic of him above is pretty much him being excited..lol.

Seriously he was the laziest dad ive seen.. even when the eggs or babies fell out of the bubblenest he would sit there and look at them and then sometime in the next halfa he would pick them up and spit them back up or NOT.

Babies are on their own now and too early to count but I will let you know soon.

5.10.07 - Another small spawn.. i would put between 10 and 12 babies but all are growing nicely. (just means i will spawn another pair in the next week. I am thinking it has something to do with weather.. they are just not into it over winter, Atleast it will be a nice mix of colours with several spawns going at once.. The golds next and then back to the pandas as lots of metallics in them.
