I put my OHM Green Mask male together with my Supreme gold Plakat female. Not exactly the pairing I wanted but my original choice of Copper/gold female HM would not participate so instead of harassing her further I thought i would try these together and see what I come up with. Both are from excellent stock and both performed excellent.
5/10/04 - spawned about 100 eggs that i can see. Female removed 10/10/04 - I'm pretty happy with these little guys, about 100 fry whom all look to be healthy and happy, nipping each other already. As most of my spawns have had a larger proportion of female fry I am hoping this one will have an equal quantity and also an equal quantity of shortfin and longfin ratio. 22/10/04 - Im excited about these guys, they have reduced down to about 20 fry but all are of a large size and growing daily. I probably added water to early on in the peace and lost a lot but the ones I do have will be interesting to watch develop. 29/10/04 - Im very impressed with the growth of these guys. The largest at 3 weeks of age has just moved on to chopped blackworms. There is already gold colouring of this fish.
7/11/04 - I shone a light directly on these guys today, stunning, most are a gorgeous metallic green and I spotted one gold coloured one. These fish are only 4 weeks old but developing fast and colours emerging well. 3/12/04 - There are 10 of these all up. All healthy and growing well. I will be putting pics of these guys up as soon as they are sexable. here they are at almost 8 weeks. these ones look to be female
19/12/04 - These little girls are ready to go out. Most are the colour of the first fish, they seem to carry the redloss gene as they all had redwash at the start but now all but one have none which I am happy about. There are only about 7 to choose from so if interested please contact me quickly. I have called these the Opals as they have 2 irridescences over the base colour . 3/01/05 - There are only 2 left both being the opal colour. 8/01/05 - all sold. |
